Day 74 W00t! Finally got my act together and got myself my first CRO ..er.. DRTO. Thanks to Kean I am now the proud owner of a Tektronix TDS-220. A marvel of a thing. If you wonder why - well, I studied electronics at uni for three years as part of my degree but never really did anything with it .. so well it's time to do so .. =). And an oscilloscope is handy, no matter how you look at it (gives your workspace that Dr. Frankenstein feel - if you add a few Jacob's Ladders). - FotoDojo

Day 82

It's nearly MAC time .. the Apple store in Sydney on George Street is nearly open for business. On Thursday evening @ 5 pm it'll open properly (open late too - check out the link).

I have been taking a few few photos of the store in the last two days - mainly because it's so close to my office and it looks like quite the retail extravaganza. I have to laugh how small it makes Telstra's lifestyle store (located opposite the Apple store) look - I am giving that store a few months then it'll be gone.

Oh I am likely not camping out - pple has like 2500 t-shirts to give away and there's no space for 2500 people to queue up on George street. Not to mention that the weather is supposed to be crap...

Anyway you can check out more photos here (and even a video) .. Amazingly I mentioned this page on whirlpool and it's pushed close to 2GB of data in the last 5 hours. Lucky I didn't host this at home =).

A lot of people have commented on the rather prime location the McD's sign has got - it's actually annoying me too next to the shiny new store.

Day 81

Well for day 81 I thought I'd try something different.

I spent more then 1/2 the day in Blacktown and 2hrs or so on the train .. so here's a short video of the train trip from Clyde direction the city.

Day 80

I loooooove running out sales ..about 1.40 meters of run-out sale to be exact.
Dick Smith Electronics in York street in Sydney is closing down the store ( I think DSE might be getting out of the electronic part business altogether)

...soooo.. they were selling all their components for 1 cent each .. in fact component PACKS for 1 cent .. so I got 100 red LED's for 1 cent for example .. wow .. I'm going to add up a rough total cost tonight but I suspect I got ~$500-1000 worth of components for around $15 .. niiiiice!

Those poor guys at the counter had to tally it all up though .. I spent like 15 minutes with the poor bloke on the 2nd bag .. total cost $4.50 ..

PS:
Just as a note - that is actually two receipts - both are about of equal length - i didn't want to have the poor buggers have to do this in one go. Oh and I did a rough count .. it's over $1000 worth of components (rrp) .. a 98.5% percent discount .. I can live with that =). Yowsa! (144cm)

Day 79

Some crosssss-processing! There are times I wish I had my decent camera on me not just the Camera P.O.S. that my skype phone came with - the ligthing today was spot on and I loved the new vs old juxtaposition.

Well.. to be honest... that I what I tell myself now - when I looked at the vista this afternoon I was just thinking: "neat!" ..=)

Day 78

Dentiiiiiiiiist.

Argh .. went to see the dentist today and got two fillings, cleaning, polishing and .. curiously got some popcorn husk removed that caused me some pain .. (it had slipped in between my gums and the tooth root .. grrr)

Anyways .. where I am pointing is where one of my fillings went, the other on the top row .. the popcorn thing was on the other side.

The mint is just for show.

Day 77

Back from Chatswood - Yeah I know this is a mondo crappy photo but somehow, well that's what it was like - a crappy ride in a jumpy bus so well.

On the upside, well I was in chatswood, and the bus wasn't too crowded (though it got busier towards the end).

Forgot to buy new shoes though .. was a bit rushed.

Day 76

Welcome to national iPhone day ..

Not sure I should go for the 3G iPhone - unfortunately I am with Three atm and they don't seem to have gotten hold of the iPhone and I'd rather not break the contract atm ..

Today was another grey dreary day and as such I thought it could do with some colour! - I forgot who bought me those but thanks! =)
